Actors Shakespeare Company is committed to fostering a spirit of participation and conversation among Hudson County’s creative community, regardless of age.  Throughout the year, ASC offers a series of workshops, discussions, performances and a summer day camp for artists, established or budding.

Workshops

ASC participates in the Stages Festival, New Jersey Theater Alliance's annual celebration of theater in New Jersey.  Taught by one of the ASC Resident Artists, the Stage Combat workshop dares you to look deadly while learning the art of stage violence: hand-to-hand, swordplay, rapier & dagger.  Shakespeare for the Whole Family allows you to come play in the world of Shakespeare: hands-on work with costumes, props, text and staging.

Discussions

Artists can participate in discussions with ASC artists through Stage Door at ASC.  Pre-show Bard Banter and post-show Talkbacks occur during the run of all of ASC main stage shows.

Performances

With No Holds Bard, you’re invited to join the Resident Artists of ASC for a fun filled evening of out loud, on your feet, unrehearsed, seat-of-your-pants Shakespeare.

Camp

Camp Arden –  Summer of 2012.  A two week summer intensive for students ages 14 – 18.  Classes in stage combat, Renaissance music and acting, culminating in a public performance in a Jersey City park.  Call the Education Department, 551-200-2931.

Act with ASC

ASC holds regular auditions for Union and non-union actors.  Check our Audition Page regularly.
